Dr. Jay Singleton, founder of Singleton Vision Center, is dedicated to helping patients achieve their best vision with a combination of surgical expertise, advanced technology, and personalized care. With over 40,000 cataract surgeries performed and extensive experience in LASIK, glaucoma surgery, blepharoplasty, and treatment of eye diseases, Dr. Singleton has built a reputation for precision, skill, and outstanding patient outcomes.
He earned his medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, completed his internship at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, and finished his ophthalmology residency at the University of Louisville in 2003. During residency, he excelled on the Ophthalmic Knowledge Assessment Program, scoring 96% after year one, 99% after year two, and 97% after year three, demonstrating exceptional mastery of ophthalmology. He is Board Certified in Ophthalmology, scoring in the 95th percentile, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the North Carolina Medical Society.
Dr. Singleton is committed to remaining at the forefront of surgical innovation, regularly participating in continuing medical education and advanced surgical training to provide patients with the latest techniques and technologies. Outside of the office and operating room, he enjoys fishing, outdoor adventures, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and playing guitar in his band,. Dr. Singleton and his wife, Amanda, share a blended family of eight children- Amelia, Bella, Lena, Emma, Henry, Eli, Ellie, and Jaxson. Together, they cherish creating lasting memories, sharing adventures, and celebrating life as a large family.
