Dr. Jay Singleton, DO FACS

Dr. Jay Singleton, the owner of Singleton Vision Center, provides our patients with excellent surgical skills, specializing in cataract surgery, laser cataract surgery, LASIK surgery, glaucoma surgery, blepharoplasty, and treatment of diseases of the eye. He has performed over 40,000 cataract surgeries in his career. He received his medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in May 1999, followed by an internship at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Louisville in 2003.

Dr. Singleton’s scores for the Ophthalmic Knowledge Assessment Program, which is a test given nationwide to all ophthalmic residents at the conclusion of each year of residency, were 96% after the first year; 99% at the end of the second year; and 97% after the third year. He is Board Certified in Ophthalmology, scoring in the 95th percentile. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the North Carolina Medical Society.

He participates in Continuing Medical Education sessions, continuously expanding his knowledge of new surgical procedures and techniques. Dr. Singleton enjoys fishing, outdoor activities, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, playing guitar, and spending time with his three children -- Amelia, Emma, and Henry.
