The skin around the eyes is one of the first places to show signs of age. Droopy eyelids can make people look tired or older, and in some cases, they can affect your eyesight. Dr. Jay Singleton perform blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) surgery to enhance your eyes, reduce the signs of aging, and improve vision.

Blepharoplasty Consultation and Examination

Your surgery begins with an in-person visit, where your surgeon examines your eyelids and takes photographs for your medical record. They will review your goals with you and recommend a treatment plan. Blepharoplasty Surgery Cost

Eyelid lift surgery may be covered by insurance if it is performed for a medical reason. For instance, if droopy upper eyelids impede your vision and limit everyday activities, then upper blepharoplasty or ptosis repair may be considered medically necessary. Insurance does not cover procedures performed for purely cosmetic reasons. Our scheduling department will assist with determining when these procedures are medically necessary and help guide you in making treatment decisions.

On the Day of Surgery

Eyelid lift surgeries are an outpatient procedure, meaning that you go home the same day, and usually performed under local anesthesia (with relaxing medications instead of general anesthesia). The procedure takes about 45 minutes to perform.

Recovery

Your eyes will be swollen after surgery, but most swelling is gone after one month. Stitches will be placed and some stitches will dissolve on their own. Non-dissolvable stitches will be removed 7-10 days after your procedure. Your surgery team will see you for follow-up visits to ensure you are healing in a timely fashion.
